On our journey to make the ‘new to us’ camper our own, one of the updates I am the most excited about is wallpapering our camper! It sounds a little crazy, doesn’t it? Who would want to wallpaper a camper?? I DO! Well, to be honest, it isn’t just regular wallpaper, it is the peel and stick, removable type of wallpaper! How hard can that be? And if it turns out terrible, I will just pull it off!
How to Wallpaper Our Camper
I found this wonderful stuff by NuWallPaper – and the options for patterns are so much fun. I am not sure I could get away with some of the patterns in my house, but in my camper – I can do ANYTHING! The directions for applying the wallpaper are very simple: clean the wall, measure and cut if necessary, peel a small portion of the backing off, and stick the wallpaper to the wall. Smooth with a putty knife and continue to peel and smooth until complete. Cut edges with an exact o knife. Ta da! Done.
The Wallpaper Process (for real)
In reality, it wasn’t quite that simple. I had some troubles with keeping the wallpaper going straight down the edge of the wall – so I had to pull and re-stick it a few times. I also found some bubbles in the wallpaper that need to be removed….some by pushing the bubbles with the putty knife and some by peeling and re-sticking. All in all – the process is so simple and not messy in any way! What an upgrade from regular wallpaper!
What Wallpaper I Used
I used two different wallpaper designs for my camper – one is like birch trees and the other is like reclaimed wood slats (or shiplap with colors!). Both look amazing in my camper! I plan on adding more wallpaper, but it is starting to get cold out and we need to winterize and put the camper away in storage.
In reality, this project was not that difficult and the result is stunning! I hope you get a chance to try this wallpaper! Keep checking back, I will continue to make updates to our camper!

Is this a two person job or can one person get it done?

It can be done with one person, but it is far easier to have two people – one to get the alignment right and smooth out bubbles, and the other to peel the backing off the wallpaper as you go down the wall! Hope that helps! 🙂
