Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! I am not exactly sure what it is about this holiday, maybe the colors, and how fun and happy everyone is around Halloween! I LOVE purple, orange and black together. The pumpkins, the owls and **the candy**, oh my! But, I have to admit that it is also at one of the busiest times of the school year for my family! And I NEED a Halloween wreath.
Because of the lack of time, I wanted a really easy and unique wreath for my front door. I have been looking for a mummy style wreath and was not having any luck!! It was time to make my own!! Off to the dollar store for a $5 Halloween wreath.
How To Make It
I was inspired by a skull I found at Michaels, which happened to be on sale and cost me $1.47. At the dollar store, I found the mummy wrap (I bought 2) and a wreath form. Total cost was $4.47. I used some extra ribbon I already had in my craft room, so that didn’t cost me anything – and I used my hot glue gun to attach everything.
What a bargain! And I think it took me a total of 15 minutes to make it! I simply started at the top of the wreath form and wrapped the mummy material around the whole wreath form. I pulled and ripped some of the mummy wrap to make it look like it was falling apart somewhat.
After wrapping the mummy material, and adding the skull – I thought the wreath needed a little more color. Using some orange and black ribbon from my craft room, I wrapped the black and orange ribbons around until they reached the bottom of the wreath form. I left some extra to hang at the bottom.
Using my handy hot glue gun, I attached the black skull so it sits at the bottom of the wreath. And the $5 Halloween Wreath is complete! Easy, cheap and festive!
